Brittany Soriano L.R.S.M A.R.C.T
Brittany was raised in Regina Saskatchewan and displayed a passion for the performing arts from a young age studying ballet and musical theatre at the Youth Ballet Company of Saskatchewan and Class Act Performing Arts Studio, and voice with Diana Woolrich and Lynn Channing (University of Regina). At 17, she joined a small self directed group called Cantate and continued to sing with the choir through university. The group has one CD featuring Canadian composer Eleanor Daley's Requiem. While in Toronto, she studied under voice coach Noreen Waibel. Over the years Brittany was a member of the national award winning Canadian youth choir Juventus, the University of Regina Chamber Singers under the direction of Kathryn Laurin, the company Saskatchewan Express Touring Musical Revue, as well as performances with Regina Lyric Light Opera and Regina Summer Stage. She has performed principal roles in various theatre productions, highlights of which include Cinderella, Once Upon a Mattress, Peter Pan, Into the Woods, and Cabaret.
In 2003, Brittany left Canada to pursue her musical theatre career as a member of the cast of the Disney Magic for Disney Cruise Lines. While sailing aboard Disney Cruise Lines, Brittany performed various roles as an ensemble dancer, aerialist and feature vocalist including Pocahontas, in several shows including Disney Dreams, Hercules the Muse-ical and the Disney Magic’s inaugural cast of The Golden Mickey’s.
Upon her return to Canada in 2008, Brittany became a private voice teacher running a home studio of 19 private students, a contracted voice coach with the Canadian company Long & McQuade, and an instructor in the Saskatchewan Express Musical Theatre Studio in Regina teaching Musical Theatre, vocal technique, theory and Kindermusik, as well as coaching the Saskatchewan Express Touring Musical Revue company on the 2008 winter production of “Deck the Halls, Broadway Style!”, 2009 “Star Track” Summer Tour, and the 2010, 2011, 2012 winter cast School Tours.
Brittany has performed as a guest soloist with the Regina Symphony Orchestra in Handel’s Messiah, with the Luther Bach Choir, in Purcell’s Come Ye Sons of Art, with the Baroque ensemble Per Sonatori in excerpts from Purcell’s Dido & Aeneas, Allegri’s Miserere, the 2013 Christmas concert "Realms of Glory", and several appearances with Halcyon Chamber Choir (Saskatchewan, Canada). In the spring of 2014, she performed the Canadian Premiere of English composer Paul Carr's Requiem for an Angel under the direction of Hart Godden (Halcyon Chamber Choir, Regina Philharmonic).
Since relocating to the UK in 2012 Brittany has performed solo work with the Bournemouth Symphony Chorus, session recording for film and television, and featured in the 2021 World Premiere of Synthetica: A Toxic Enchantment A contemporary chamber opera by composer Karen Wimhurst.
Brittany is the 2012 winner of the Regina Music Festival Association’s Italian Star Operatic Scholarship, Regina Central Lions Senior Scholarship and the Jacqui and Morris Shumiatcher Scholarship Competition.
Brittany holds an LRSM from the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music and ARCT from the Royal Conservatory of Music Toronto in music voice performance and is a licensed Kindermusik educator.
Currently, she run a full private vocal studio as well as delivering voice and music workshops in Primary and Secondary schools in the Bournemouth and Poole area. She can also be seen performing in and around Bournemouth with funk soul and Motown band B Town Soul Cats Band.
Brittany is fully CRB checked and holds a Safeguarding Children certification.
